Address Number Signs ChalkBoard

Are you looking for top quality Address Number Signs that are economical and built to last? DekoRRa products manufactures premiere quality address number signs using highly durable exterior grade materials that are designed to stand the test of time and look good doing it! No matter how attractive it may appear when pulled out of the box, an address number sign made with low quality materials is not going to look appealing for long after being exposed to the elements.

DekoRRa entered the address number signs market with a simple goal in mind: to create the best quality products at economical price points that simply cannot be beat. With it's established line of architectural grade faux rock enclosures an unparallelled success the company wanted to use the same strategies in entering the address number sign market.

Address number signs can be manufactured using a wide variety of plastic grades and varieties that all appear similar at first glance. However, the similarities stop there. Number signs manufactured with low quality resins fade and become grey in the sun. Freeze thaw cycles cause them to become brittle and crack or delaminate. Metal signs can rust and tarnish, wood can crack and requires maintenance, painting, staining and upkeep. What DekoRRa has done is take the highest grade of exterior class ABS polymers, and combine it with a rust free metal laminate to produce address number signs that do not rust, fade, crack or delaminate regardless of the environment.

When choosing an address number sign it's important to realize how the sign is manufactured and what types of materials are used. Sure, a particular design may look great on the screen, but how will it appear after 5 months out in the sun? Is it manufactured with exterior grade products? Is there nice depth and edge quality around the numbers and letters? Are the mounting fasteners included and if so are they of decent quality? With DekoRRa address number signs you always get:

  • Available in three beautiful metals: Copper, Gold and Nickel.Address Number Signs Gold Color Plaque

To Plaque Or Not To Plaque – Address Number Signs Vs Single Numbers

For many there's a choice between going with individual address numbers or choosing instead to purchase and entire address number sign. The number sign route is nice because they are designed with specific colors that “pop” or display well on the background color. Depending on the color and texture of the surface (brick, stucco, siding etc) in many cases separately mounted numbers can be difficult to see. They just don't stand out well regardless of color in many cases, especially when viewed from any kind of distance. This is a problem, especially considering the fact that the main objective of address numbers is to be seen. Address number signs are designed with maximum visibility in mind and this visibility is assured regardless of the color or texture of the mounting surface.

Address number signs and character size is also important. Most folks tend to underestimate how far away a number or letter that's a couple inches tall can actually be read. Many tend to order number size with numbers larger than they really need for their particular application. In most cases numbers 2” to 4” tall is plenty. Use your mailbox as a testing point. Measure the numbers or letters on its side and then pace off how far away you can stand and still easily read the characters. Now use this information in choosing the size of the numbers and or letters required on the address number sign of your liking.

Address number signs and address plaques are also very easy to install. In most cases it's a quick 2 screws and you're done. With individual numbers and letters it's a real chore lining them up to assure that they are straight. And working with the miniscule installation hardware can be a real nightmare. It's much easier to install address number signs vs individual address numbers in almost any case!

Can you buy a fake rock that comes with a warranty anywhere? A warranty against fading / cracking etc??

Beware of getting a fake rock that's made in china. My wife bought one and it started to smell really weird after being out in the sun for a couple days. It smelled kind of like burning styrofoam when you got close to it.

I've made a few concrete fake rocks. They last a long time if you seal them after the concrete drys.

Our realtor gave us a plastic one to cover our well. It looked great but my husband was too lazy to use the stakes it came with to pin it to the ground and a thunderstorm blew it away!

We had a fiberglass rock at our previous home. It was covering a well pump. My husband nicked it with the lawn mower (of course he blamed me) ;) and it cracked the rock and left a really sharp, jagged edge where the crack was. I didn't like the kids near it. Next time around I went with a plastic fake rock.

I've had both concrete and plastic versions. Concrete fake rock cracked after 2 years.
